The Hyundai Motor India company has recently released two new versions of their small SUV, the Hyundai Exter: the S Smart and the SX Smart. These new types aim to make liked features like a sunroof and easy key entry with a button start available to more buyers.
Here’s a look at the prices (before extra costs, all over India) and main features of these new versions:
Hyundai Exter S Smart
- Petrol Manual: ₹7.68 lakh
- Petrol Automatic: ₹8.39 lakh
- CNG Manual: ₹8.63 lakh
Based on the current S version, the S Smart version adds these features:
- Single glass opening in the roof that works with electricity (making it the cheapest Exter version with this feature)
- LED lights that run during the day in the front
- LED lights in the back
- System that checks the air pressure in the tires
- Air vents in the back for passengers
- 15-inch regular metal wheels
Hyundai Exter SX Smart
- Petrol Manual: ₹8.16 lakh
- Petrol Automatic: ₹8.83 lakh
- CNG Manual: ₹9.18 lakh
Building on the SX version, the SX Smart version includes:
- Easy key entry with a button to start and stop the engine
- Camera to help with parking in reverse
- Seats made with artificial leather
- Headlights that project light
- Antenna shaped like a shark fin
- Single glass opening in the roof
Extra Things You Can Buy:
Hyundai is also offering a 9.0-inch screen inside for music and other things that can connect wirelessly to Apple phones and Android phones, along with a reverse camera, as an extra thing you can buy for ₹14,999. These extras come with a 3-year promise.
Engine Types:
Both the S Smart and SX Smart versions have the same engine choices as the other Exter models:
- 1.2-litre 4-cylinder regular petrol engine: Makes 83 horsepower and 114 Nm of pulling power, available with a 5-speed hand-controlled gear system or a 5-speed automatic gear system.
- 1.2-litre petrol engine that can also use CNG: Makes 69 horsepower and 95.2 Nm of pulling power, only available with a 5-speed hand-controlled gear system. The CNG versions now have Hyundai’s two-tank system for more space in the back for luggage.
Where It Fits in the Market:
The release of the S Smart and SX Smart versions aims to make the Hyundai Exter stronger in the competitive small SUV group, where it competes with the Tata Punch and Maruti Ignis.
