The Indian SUV market is getting ready for a new competitor as MG Motor India plans to launch its top SUV, the Majestor, in the second half of 2025. Expected to be better than the current Gloster, the Majestor is likely to compete with the top seller in this class, the Toyota Fortuner, and other strong SUVs in the large-size category.
Shown at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the MG Majestor has been tested a lot on Indian roads, suggesting it will arrive soon. Based on the popular global Maxus D90 platform, the Majestor has a different and strong design, making it look unique compared to the Gloster.
Outside Design
The Majestor has a striking and powerful front look, with a big black grill that has eight sides. On either side of the grill are tall LED headlights and thin LED lights that run during the day. The thick front bumper with silver parts adds to its tough appearance.
Looking at the side, you can see the SUV’s large size and newly designed wheels with two spokes. At the back, the Majestor has connected LED taillights that wrap around, a large ‘Majestor’ nameplate, and two exhaust pipes, giving it a fancy and modern feel.

Under the hood, the MG Majestor will probably use the same engine choices as the Gloster. This includes a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine and a more powerful 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine.
- 2.0-litre Turbo Diesel: Expected to produce around 161 horsepower and 373.5 Nm of pulling power.
- 2.0-litre Twin-Turbo Diesel: Expected to produce 213 horsepower and 478 Nm of pulling power.
Both engines will likely come with an 8-speed automatic transmission. A four-wheel-drive system is also likely to be available.

The MG Majestor will be the top SUV offered by MG in India, above the Gloster. It will also compete with other large SUVs in the market, such as the Jeep Meridian and the Skoda Kodiaq.

While the exact launch date hasn’t been announced, the MG Majestor is expected to arrive in Indian showrooms in the second half of 2025. Experts predict the price to be around ₹40 – ₹46 Lakh (before taxes), putting it directly against its main competitors.
